Description

Crispy golden air-fried tofu drenched in a sweet, savory garlic glaze. This plant-based dish features tender interiors and a caramelized rainbow-hued exterior, perfect for main courses or appetizers. Ready in 25 minutes with no deep frying required.

Ingredients

Scale

14 oz (400g) extra-firm tofu, cubed
2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon minced garlic or garlic paste
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup vegetable broth
1 tablespoon cornstarch (for thickening)
2 tablespoons water
Cooking oil spray (optional)

Instructions

Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C)
Press tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture
Cut into 1-inch cubes and toss in oil spray if desired
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, garlic, red pepper flakes, and vegetable broth
Air fry tofu for 12 minutes, flipping once
Combine cornstarch and water into a slurry, brush onto tofu cubes
Air fry another 8 minutes until glaze is caramelized and sticky

Notes

For vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey
Use tamari for gluten-free option
Toss with sesame seeds for extra texture
Serves well with jasmine rice and stir-fried bok choy or snap peas
