Ingredients

Scale

¾ cup milk (warm, not hot)
¼ cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 large egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
⅔ cup granulated sugar (for coating)
Assorted jelly fillings (e.g., raspberry, strawberry, blueberry)

Instructions

Combine milk, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast in a bowl. Let sit 5-10 minutes until foamy
In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt
Add egg, melted butter, and milk mixture to the flour. Knead into a soft dough
Let dough rest 10 minutes
Roll dough into ropes and cut into small rounds
Place jelly filling in centers and shape into donuts
Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place donuts in the basket and fry 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden
Combine cinnamon and additional granulated sugar in a bowl. Toss donuts into the mixture
Cool slightly before serving

Notes

For halal compliance, use halal-certified butter
Fillings can be replaced with preserves, nut pastes, or fruit curd
