Description
These Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers are a quick, crowd-pleasing appetizer filled with a creamy cheese mixture and coated in crispy Panko breadcrumbs. Perfect for any gathering, they offer a perfect balance of heat and cheesy flavor in a light, crispy package.
Ingredients
8 fresh jalapeño peppers
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
1 egg, lightly beaten
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Wash and dry the jalapeños. Cut each in half lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes.
In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
Stuff each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture.
Dip each stuffed jalapeño into the beaten egg, then into the Panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.
Place the poppers in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap.
Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until the outside is golden and crispy.
Repeat if necessary for a second batch.
Serve warm with your favorite dip, such as ranch or sour cream.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free Panko breadcrumbs.
You can add finely chopped green onions or cooked diced tomatoes to the cheese mixture for extra flavor.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispiness.
