Description
Crispy chicken bites with a luscious honey garlic glaze, made effortlessly in an air fryer for a healthier twist. Perfect as a snack or meal, these bites offer a sweet and savory flavor combo with a crunchy panko coating.
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs (680g) skinless, boneless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup honey
3 tbsp soy sauce (gluten-free if needed)
2 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp water
2 tsp cornstarch (optional, for sauce thickness)
Instructions
Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C)
In a bowl, mix flour, panko, minced garlic, salt, and pepper
Dredge chicken pieces in the coating until fully covered
Place chicken in the air fryer basket, ensuring even spacing
Spray a thin layer of olive oil over the chicken for extra crispiness
Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through
While chicken fries, make the sauce by combining honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and water in a small saucepan
Simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring until slightly thickened
Optional: Mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and add to sauce to enhance the glaze
Once chicken is ready, toss it in the sauce until evenly coated
Serve warm with rice, noodles, or as finger food
Notes
For extra crispiness, pat chicken dry before coating.
Adjust air fryer time if using a different chicken cut: thighs may need 2-3 minutes longer than breasts.
Sauce is naturally gluten-free if using gluten-free soy sauce.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Freeze cooked chicken without sauce for 1-2 months; reheat in the air fryer.
