Description
Air Fryer Baked Apples are a warm, sweet fall dessert made with tender whole apples, cinnamon brown sugar, and a buttery pecan crumble topping.
Ingredients
4 Gala apples or apples of choice
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 tablespoon almond flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1. Choose 4 large apples that can stand upright.
2. Slice the top off each apple so it has a flat surface.
3. Core the apples carefully with a sharp paring knife.
4. Preheat the air fryer to 320°F for about 2 minutes.
5. Place the apples in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching.
6. Sprinkle the tops of the apples with 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
7. Air fry the apples at 320°F for 15 minutes.
8. In a small bowl, combine the chopped pecans, almond flour, brown sugar, coconut oil, and cinnamon. Mix thoroughly with a spoon.
9. Remove the baked apples from the air fryer and spoon the pecan mixture into and on top of the apples.
10. Air fry for another 5 minutes at 320°F.
11. Serve warm.
Notes
Use apples that are firm enough to hold their shape while cooking.
Gala, Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith apples all work well.
Serve warm as-is or with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce.
